Wool Cloth Manufacturer. Dwight Warren Ellis bought 14 acres of land along with the tenaments in 1870-71 from C. W. Holmes & Son. The property stood vacant after the C. W. Holmes & Son factory burned to the ground. By 1872, Dwight built a new factory. His son Arthur, started working for him in 1871 as the superintendant of this factory. |

D. W. Ellis Accounting Books Dwight Warren Ellis began his sole ownership of a woolen mill in Monson when he purchased the mill property and tenements on Bliss Street in 1871 from Joseph Reynolds. The factory on this property burned to the ground in 1870. Dwight Ellis immediately erected a factory and began manufacturing fancy cassimeres.
