Cushman Field |
Details |
When the Cushman Memorial Field was completely destroyed in the hurricane and flood of 1938 a new field bearing this name was constructed on the hillside behind The Homestead. A woodland tract of about 100 acres known as Flynt Park, which adjoins the before mentioned athletic field, was presented to the Academy in 1947 by Henry N. Flynt, of Greenwich, Connecticut. The Academy created two Football fields, two Soccer fields, three Baseball diamonds and a running track at this location. They named the newly created fields - Cushman Field. They were dedicated in 1948. |
