Letter to "Relatives" from John's Aunt Grace Horne from Glade Spring, Virginia during the Civil War. She speaks of birth and death dates of Sarah Talbert, late Sarah Meek. That she herself is in common health. That the Deed that whoever she is writing to is no good and that a W. Robinson has brought suit for the land in question. That Mrs. Munn might like the date of her mother's marriage which was February 17, 1820. That Mary Haynes and her 2 youngest children left here for Alabama. And that she has paid Meek, Haynes and Co. $10,000.00 as security and that she is not through yet, she will have to sell her Negroes to get out. |
