Minutes Book titled - Records of the Proprietors of the Conference House in Monson. Also known as the Vestry. First meeting was held by the Inhabitants of the First Parish in Monson at the house of Amos Norcross to consider the expedency of erecting a Conference House for the use of said Parish. Meeting was called to order by Rev. Alfred Ely, Joseph L. Reynolds was voted Moderator, A. W. Porter, Clerk. A committee of seven was appointed to draft a plan, location and cost of the building, this committee consisted of Luther Carter, Pearly Truesdell, A. W. Porter, Joel Tucker, Asiah Ward, Horatio Lyon and Franklin Newell. Others were added to the group as time went on. Luther Carter was the builder. |
