Handwritten letter to Dr. George E. Fuller from Jere Cohan. Letter written on letterhead from the Hotel Vendome on the Corner of Broadway and 41st Street, New York. Before Jere Cohan became the vaudeville family act "The Four Cohans" and the father of George M. Cohan. He was Jeremiah Keohane, drummer boy in the Civil War. He became a very good friend of George Fuller. This is a letter he wrote shortly after receiving a letter from George Fuller with reminiscences of their time in the War. His son George M. Cohan became the famous entertainer and playwright and wrote songs such as, "Over There", "The Yankee Doodle Boy", "Give My Regards To Broadway" and "You're A Grand Old Flag", to name a few. Transcription of letter done by unknown person at unknown time. |
